Chapter 127: Guidance

"I didn’t expect the leader of the Goddess squad to come personally."

After their session, Jade had decided to stay in her own safe house,* and Marian needed a lot of stuff to stay in there, so she left with Jade to buy stuff and clothing. That left Ray alone for his meeting with the immortals; he thought that they would summon him in the glass sphere of space.

But a woman came out of a white portal; she had armor that protected every piece of her body. The only opening was her eyes; the helmet was bones of an unknown creature, yet the armor of her body was made out of some sort of metal.

Seeing her eyes, Ray finally understood why she was the leader; her eyes were eyes of a killer. Usually people found reasons for their bad actions, "Oh, the other person insulted me; it’s fair if I hurt him!" Finding a reason to justify their actions.

Most of the people were like that; Ray could see it just by looking at their eyes. They were full of emotions about the world; on the other hand, very few people had dead eyes. If they didn’t kill how many they killed or if the road they took was made out of bones, they would have taken

Those types of people both scared and interested Ray at the same time; after all, he was one of them.

"Anti-healing magic is a complex magic. What guarantee can you give me that you can create it?" Her voice was twisted as it came behind the mask.

"None," Ray simply said.

"You have pure magic inside of you; you know you can do it."

He raised an eyebrow; no one could guess the small portion of magic inside of his system. "I can’t guarantee it, but if a human can make it, it’s me."

"I would like to pre-buy not anti-healing but another form of magic." Her eyes narrowed on him: "It’s simpler than anti-healing, but your talent should reach that league first."

"Let me guess, I will craft that magic only for the Goddess Squad."

"Not the squad, only me." A hand only with bones came out of her armor. "For payment I will give you one hundred thousand dark crystals now and triple the amount if you do it successfully."

"Deal." The offer was too tempting to pass; that amount could barely help him level up at the moment, but having that amount could help him have easier negotiations in the future.

"Shake the hand, and Scarlet and I will join your harem."

Taking the bone-made hand, a large sum of crystals entered his system, and with basic rules of crafting, in exchange he could feel something being taken out.

"Your harem is rather interesting; tell Famine to keep her eyes on my way." With the name dropping out of nowhere, Ray finally decided to ask his question.

"You are not human; you have ascended too?"

"I’m as much human as you are, and some questions are better left unanswered." She took a step forward. "Be careful on the lines you try to cross."

Ray smirked, "Tell me how many crystals you guys use on Mars to produce one magical crystal?" Changing the topic was his best option; he had received his answer.

"15 to 20, depending on magic." Playing along with him, she turned around to walk back to her portal.

His suspicion was confirmed; at best Ray used about 20 to craft one magical crystal, but that could even be cut shorter to 15, almost 30 percent more value on his materials!

"One last thing: where can I find a good weapon?" To craft a worthy one, he had a long way to go, and all the ones he knew from his previous life were useless for him.

"Not on earth." With that, she left without any trace.

Bags of the materials that he had asked for were in the room. Going through each one, Ray checked their qualities; all of them were top-notch, and the dark crystals were 90 percent pure.

Heading to his bedroom, Ray decided to rest for the night. "Tomorrow morning I should begin the construction!" He was excited for the future and things he was going to make.

"She said complex magic; if all of base magics are like the fundamentals of magic, that means more complex magic have a formula! But it can be made out of two magics or tens!" The possibilities were endless, like the first human that explored space, Ray felt a door to a new world had opened itself to him.

Clearing his mind, he sat on the bed. "Pure magic must be the base of all magic types; the key to changing is its vibration, yet the parasite’s magic could coexist with the world, and mine can’t!"

The only way to reach the right formula was to test and error, and such a thing needed way more resources than he possessed.

Having two options about his next plan, Ray lay down and closed his eyes. "I can stop the whole planet from leveling up; in that way my own progress will be much slower, but if I let the whole planet use my crafting talents, it would be much easier to level up!" The 100,000 dark crystals could cover 20 percent of his road to reaching level 9, but their true value was if he destroyed all the crystal farms on the planet.

And there was also the more crystals needed for his next level, way more. Ray didn’t reach level 9 before, but he had heard the amount needed could reach millions.

"Fuck it!" He sent a message to Jade to arrange a meeting with a certain someone. "Letting the whole planet level up is more fun!"
