Chapter 1154 - 39: Battle of a Hundred

Chapter 1154 - 39: Battle of a Hundred

"Su Xiao, you’re taking it too easy. We’re down here fighting for our lives, and you’re up there, who knows doing what."

Mizaki wasn’t criticizing; she was just joking.

"Hi... Hello, I’m a temporary worker."

A somewhat young female voice echoed, the sound alone made it clear she was a soft-spoken girl.

"Little sister, don’t be shy, big sis has got you covered. That sniper over there is Night of Beheading, the deep voice belongs to Old Smoke, and the one whose words can kill is Elemental Master Dust. They’re all very ’united’ ’teammates’."

Mizaki started teasing this random girl.

This girl wasn’t a strong figure; she was a healer borrowed by Old Smoke from a medium-sized adventure group. A ’generously endowed’ healer, and of course not for free. Her reward was a fragment of the Ant King’s Heart with a 3 cm diameter. Whether they’d actually pay up, who knows; Old Smoke wouldn’t make a contract with the group in this situation.

In missions involving looting like this, it’s natural for adventure groups to have a reduction mechanism. Otherwise, an entire Ant King’s Heart wouldn’t be enough for a group of dozens of people to share, which would be a joke.

Therefore, as long as they get a sufficiently large fragment of the heart, that medium-sized adventure group can complete the main task with the lowest evaluation for everyone.

At this moment, the healer girl was hiding in a pit with a dozen teammates protecting her. Despite this, she didn’t feel safe. Intense malice seemed to emanate from the wireless earpiece.

Compared to the collaboration between Su Xiao and the others, the cooperation in their adventure group was simply too harmonious. No comparison at all.

"Um..."

The healer girl weakly spoke.

"Mizaki, stop the chatter and attack the Royal Palace."

Su Xiao’s voice startled the healer girl, making her shrink down. Her teammates looked at her confusedly, which reassured her quite a bit. She suddenly had the thought that having teammates is really nice. Without these teammates, any one of the others could have used her to death.

"Got it, got it, summoning my ’beloved son’ now."

Shui Yang’s red lips curved up, and although she seemed like a close combatant, she actually wasn’t.

Whoosh!

A whooshing sound came from high above, and a massive blue figure was descending straight towards the Royal Palace.

Boom!

The blue figure landed like a meteorite, sending a cold pulse spreading around. The entire Royal Palace was smashed into a massive thirty-meter-wide crater.

"Roar!!"

A roaring sound came from inside the Royal Palace, and a biting cold spread out, freezing the entire palace within.

"My ’beloved son’ is pretty strong, right?"

Mizaki had a trident-shaped mark appear on her forehead, indicating her dual capabilities of close combat and summoning.

"Dark Sky Swallow."

A large mass of dark element appeared in Dust’s hands, which he gradually clamped together, causing the elemental orb to shrink until it was marble-sized.

Dust’s fingers touched the dark element orb, which suddenly disappeared and reappeared above the Royal Palace.

"Maximize."

Veins bulged on Dust’s face, and the magical robe he wore swayed without wind.

Rumble...

An upward suction appeared, causing stones on the ground to float. Large cracks appeared across the frozen Royal Palace before it shattered, with debris rising into the sky and getting absorbed into the dark element orb.

At this time, over a hundred Contractors gathered around the Royal Palace courtyard. They weren’t capable of dealing with the Ant King, and leaving wasn’t an option, so they just stayed nearby for the fun. Contractors with long-range abilities also attacked the Ant King.

Dust, Mizaki, and Old Smoke all wore expressions as if this was a common sight. They had been through many similar situations.

Su Xiao, however, was different. Due to his hunting tasks, his main tasks often differed from the Contractors’, so this was his first time encountering such a scene.

After the Ant King died, these Contractors would undoubtedly rush in all at once, throwing out all kinds of skills. Some would be after the treasure chest, while others would want the Ant King’s Heart. The scene would undoubtedly be chaotic then.

A large group of Contractors stood on the courtyard’s wall, some staring blankly at the rapidly expanding stone sphere in the sky.

"Is that... Earth Exploding Morning Star??"

A somewhat sluggish Contractor gulped. He had never experienced the Naruto World, so he’d only seen such a scene on screens. Now that it appeared before him, one could only imagine the impact it had on him.

Dust’s move wasn’t Earth Exploding Morning Star, but the inspiration came from it.

The entire Royal Palace was fragmented, and amid the ruins of the palace, two figures faced each other.

"This isn’t as we agreed; you acted ahead of schedule."

The Ant King crossed its arms over its chest. Its skin was a pale green, with a ’dome helmet,’ which was actually a natural shell that protected its head and wasn’t a helmet per se.

The Ant King’s form was quite similar to a human, except for a tubular tail. This tail didn’t resemble any other species, and its tip looked like a needle head.

Purple shells covered small parts of the Ant King’s arms and legs, resembling a human wearing light armor.

"I can’t control them."

Chairman Netero leaped backward. With so many humans around, he wasn’t going to single-handedly take on the Ant King.

"So Pouf and Pitou are dead? I thought they were decent."

The Ant King’s voice was calm, without any emotion over the death of its loyal guards.

"Humans are indeed a lower species. I originally thought about managing humans with humans, but now it seems that idea is absurd."

The Ant King glanced at the stone sphere in the sky. With a flick of its tail, a shadow appeared, and a basketball-sized rock was struck skyward.

Whoosh!

A piercing whoosh followed by a loud boom ensued as the massive stone sphere, over a hundred meters in diameter, was pierced, rapidly cracking and shattering.

"I thought it was a formidable move, so I used full force. It seems I overestimated it."

The Ant King mumbled as footsteps approached.

"No need to mind, it was just clearing the terrain."

Mizaki walked into the royal palace’s ruins, with Old Smoke and Dust on her two sides, facing the Chairman. The three surrounded the Ant King at the center, Dust being the furthest from the Ant King, with Su Xiao even further away.

"Clearing the terrain? Is there a long-range attack coming?"

The Ant King scanned its surroundings and quickly noticed the distant watchtower.

On the watchtower, Su Xiao had aligned his crosshair with Mizaki. Mizaki’s mouth twitched.

"Hey, hey, hey, don’t point that thing at me, it’s giving me goosebumps. Don’t worry about my previous blunder; I’ll hold off the Ant King."

Mizaki’s expression was a bit unnatural. Being targeted by the Duke of Extinction would naturally elicit such a reaction.

Was Mizaki really just mistaken? Only a three-year-old would believe such an excuse.

A Frost Giant, standing ten meters tall, loomed behind Mizaki, its entire body made of ice, continuously releasing cold air.

Su Xiao realigned the crosshair on the Ant King. The current situation required someone to test the Ant King’s strength.

Neither Su Xiao nor Dust could possibly go to test; Su Xiao was about 800 meters away from the Ant King, Dust 300 meters. As for Old Smoke and Mizaki, they couldn’t be counted on either. The only candidate was, of course, Chairman Netero.
