Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone

Chapter 749 - 486: Glory Advancement, Clone Enchantment

Chapter 749 - 486: Glory Advancement, Clone Enchantment

Meanwhile, the numerous zombies who had been battling the undead of the tomb also stopped, falling into a brief state of chaos.

Fang Zhou had evolved several times and had gradually learned how to restrain his desire for evolution. For undead creatures, restraining the desire to evolve was no easy task. It required an incredibly high degree of control over one’s Soul Fire. Fang Zhou could now barely manage it.

However, although Fang Zhou could restrain his desire to evolve, he still required a vast amount of Soul Power and Corpse Essence to serve as fuel for his growth.

He promptly stopped and commanded all his subordinates to frantically capture every nearby undead that did not belong to him. He then had them send their Soul Power and Corpse Essence to him to be devoured.

Following this, Fang Zhou devoured so much Soul Power and Corpse Essence that he nearly went numb. Even though he knew his four-dimensional attributes were certainly improving at an astonishing rate, he didn’t have the presence of mind to check, focusing solely on suppressing his Soul Fire.

With so many subordinates, he could afford to take his time. Even though Fang Zhou was devouring frantically, he still couldn’t keep up with the speed at which his underlings delivered Soul Power and Corpse Essence. At one point, a long queue of the tomb’s undead formed before Fang Zhou, each holding the captured Soul Fire of their prisoners.

This was precisely the purpose behind Fang Zhou’s desperate efforts to strengthen the Corpse Cemetery and endlessly expand the forces under his command.

Stimulated by such abundant Soul Power and Corpse Essence, Fang Zhou had the Yellow Springs Nightmare he was riding help absorb the spoils of war. Anything he truly couldn’t absorb, he simply infused into his weapon and battle armor. After all, this type of Corpse Armor could absorb any amount of Corpse Essence without fear of breaking; it would only grow stronger.

Although Fang Zhou tried his best to restrain himself, by the second day, he still couldn’t withstand the intense desire for evolution. A massive cocoon of Death Ability once again materialized around his body, enclosing him along with his weapon, armor, and the Yellow Springs Nightmare.

This time, the evolution process felt exceedingly strange to Fang Zhou. In previous evolutions, he would suddenly lose consciousness, and by the time he regained it, the evolution was already complete. But during this evolution, he actually remained relatively conscious. He could even clearly feel his Soul Fire rapidly transforming his body, weapon, and even his mount.

The overflowing Soul Fire and Corpse Essence felt like warm currents in a world of ice and snow, making Fang Zhou feel incredibly comfortable and causing his mind to grow drowsy. In this bizarre state of being drowsy yet unable to fall asleep, Fang Zhou finally completed this evolution.

Unlike before, Fang Zhou clearly felt the changes in himself after this evolution.

The first change was that he could see. Truly see.

Skeletons don’t have eyes. And although zombies have eyes, they are merely a mass of decaying flesh, as useless as a deaf man’s ears—just for show. For the undead, eyes and ears are all unnecessary organs.

Hearing relies on the Soul Fire.

Vision relies on the Soul Fire.

Smell relies on the Soul Fire.

Even taste is judged by the Soul Fire.

However, there is a significant difference between the colors seen by the eyes and the sensations perceived by the Soul Fire’s scan. And now, Fang Zhou’s eyes had regained their function. He could see the world through his eyes.

Along with his eyes, his ears also regained some function, though he could only hear faint sounds; this ability was still minuscule. His sense of smell, on the other hand, was completely absent. At least, he still couldn’t detect the characteristic stench of the zombies.

Apart from the slight recovery of his five senses, what delighted Fang Zhou even more was that his main attribute, Strength, had finally reached 850 points. This also signified that he had naturally advanced to the Bronze Upper Rank.

Fang Zhou looked at his attribute panel.

Compared to before, the Corpse Clone’s attribute panel showed several obvious improvements. Aside from the increase in tier and attributes gained from devouring the Giant Zombie Lord’s Soul Fire, Fang Zhou’s three pieces of Corpse Armor had also undergone a qualitative transformation during the recent feast of Corpse Essence. Of course, this was also inseparable from his further analysis of the Corpse Authority during this period.

On the Poisonous Skeleton Long Spear, besides the original +3 enhancement and Level 3 Gemstones, there was now an Armor-Piercing Enchantment. The effect of the Armor-Piercing Enchantment, while sounding ordinary, was extremely practical. It allowed Fang Zhou’s attacks to ignore a portion of the enemy’s defense.

The Poisonous Skeleton Armor now bore the Tenacity Enchantment. Its effect was also excellent, allowing it to slightly reduce direct damage taken.

And the Yellow Springs Nightmare was even more incredible. Its Fire Stepping Enchantment greatly enhanced the ability and power of its Path of Burning Fire. Most importantly, this Fire Stepping Enchantment transformed the originally twisted and hideous Corpse Warhorse into a terrifying Horror Nightmare reborn from flames. It possessed a violent aesthetic that perfectly aligned with Fang Zhou’s tastes.

Armor-Piercing, Tenacity, and Fire Stepping. These three enchantments were the first time Fang Zhou had successfully simulated the enchantment effects of Blue Star’s Professional system on his clone using Death Energy and Corpse Essence. Not only did this advance his strength by another leap, but it also validated the direction of his recent research.

Next, Fang Zhou planned to use the enchantments on his personal Corpse Armor as a basis to research effective methods for enchanting the tomb’s military units. If successful, it would undoubtedly lead to a massive increase in the combat effectiveness of the Tombyard Undead Army.

Regarding the Corpse Cemetery’s buildings, besides heavy defensive structures like Towers, the most important new additions were two major resource production buildings: the Death Alchemy Room and the Corpse Ranch.

Needless to say, for the Corpse Ranch, through his recent explorations, Fang Zhou had finally figured out how to synthesize and create Undead Beast mounts by simulating the energy environment of the Chiguo Plain. Although this method was still in its infancy, not yet mature, demanding extremely strict materials, and yielding unsatisfactory production quantity and efficiency, it was, after all, a breakthrough from zero to one.
